Through the implementation of a variety of co-financed public activities and discussions, the action raises awareness on key EU policies and their impact in the every-day lives of Cypriot citizens, whilst promoting the role of the European Parliament and its democratic values. More specifically OPEK as a civil society organization advocates the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Active presence in the EU institutions<\/li>\n<li>Contribution to common European policies<\/li>\n<li>Openess, networking and solidarity in Europe<\/li>\n<li>Initiatives to promote citizens&#8217; participatory processes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The OPEK &#8220;Citizens&#8217; Forum&#8221; program has cultivated the exchange of ideas on the most important issues of concern to all European societies.<\/p>\n<p>Its implementation, from January 2021 to June 2022, coincided to a large extent with the <strong>Conference on the Future of Europe and its topics.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>OPEK conducted over 70 public activities and discussions in the following topics:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Europe, an international peace actor<\/li>\n<li>Rule of law and fight against corruption<\/li>\n<li>Economic and Social justice<\/li>\n<li>European Green Deal<\/li>\n<li>Energy policy and Renewables<\/li>\n<li>Digital Transformation<\/li>\n<li>Health and lessons from the pandemic<\/li>\n<li>Education and promotion of peace<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_toggle_section av-l6fduvh6-b5d98234dd078f59bd221011643c28c0'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div role=\"tablist\" class=\"single_toggle\" data-tags=\"{All} \"  ><p id='toggle-toggle-id-4' data-fake-id='#toggle-id-4' class='toggler  av-title-above '  itemprop=\"headline\"  role='tab' tabindex='0' aria-controls='toggle-id-4' data-slide-speed=\"200\" data-title=\"Results\" data-title-open=\"\" data-aria_collapsed=\"Click to expand: Results\" data-aria_expanded=\"Click to collapse: Results\">Results<span class=\"toggle_icon\"><span class=\"vert_icon\"><\/span><span class=\"hor_icon\"><\/span><\/span><\/p><div id='toggle-id-4' aria-labelledby='toggle-toggle-id-4' role='region' class='toggle_wrap  av-title-above'  ><div class='toggle_content invers-color '  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>The OPEK Citizens&#8217; Forum developed a variety of activities such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Round table meetings<\/li>\n<li>Consultation with stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Events with technocrats and academics<\/li>\n<li>A Conference on the Future of Europe<\/li>\n<li>Publications and Press conferences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With the support of the newspaper &#8220;Politis&#8221; and the use of social media, OPEK promoted its activities so that they are accessible in the form of video recordings.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_toggle_section av-l6fdv9r5-b36da4c6ad79145160908e26a4584d8b'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div role=\"tablist\" class=\"single_toggle\" data-tags=\"{All} \"  ><p id='toggle-toggle-id-5' data-fake-id='#toggle-id-5' class='toggler  av-title-above '  itemprop=\"headline\"  role='tab' tabindex='0' aria-controls='toggle-id-5' data-slide-speed=\"200\" data-title=\"The Future of Europe\" data-title-open=\"\" data-aria_collapsed=\"Click to expand: The Future of Europe\" data-aria_expanded=\"Click to collapse: The Future of Europe\">The Future of Europe<span class=\"toggle_icon\"><span class=\"vert_icon\"><\/span><span class=\"hor_icon\"><\/span><\/span><\/p><div id='toggle-id-5' aria-labelledby='toggle-toggle-id-5' role='region' class='toggle_wrap  av-title-above'  ><div class='toggle_content invers-color '  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>The Conference on the Future of Europe was an important opportunity for citizens from all over Europe to share their ideas.
